Richard Harfst

General Manager

Richard is a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) and has been a Certified Teaching Professional since 2014. Prior to his position at Westside, Richard owned and operated River City Tennis in Elizabeth City, building tennis at all ages in the Elizabeth City community. Richard was the Head Women’s Tennis Coach at Elizabeth City State University NCAA DII CIAA for four years before he turned his attention to Westside. In early 2021 he began a new role with the club helping to oversee all operations. He loves taking care of the facility, treats the Har-Tru with the utmost care, and enjoys teaching players of all ages. His wife Lindsey is often on the courts playing, and their two children are typically the artists behind the joyful chalk art around the grounds.

“The thing that I enjoy most about my job is trying to have a positive impact on someone’s day. Everything is relative, but life is tough. Time spent on the tennis court should contribute to one’s quality of life. I do what I can to make that happen.” -R

Morgan Morris

ISSA certified personal trainer

My name is Morgan Morris, and I’m a ISSA certified personal trainer dedicated to providing personalized training plans that take my client’s schedules, goals, preferences, limitations, and experience in mind.

I am originally from Virginia and have been a resident of the OBX since 2020 with my husband and daughter. My fitness history started in 2022 with strength training and weight lifting as well as bodybuilding. In addition to my certification as a personal trainer I have been a licensed nurse since 2015.

I love to help others transform through fitness. I have worked primarily with beginner clients who have felt frustrated, overwhelmed, and unsure where to begin. I love working with beginners and bringing out their confidence in addition to those who find themselves “stuck” or are ready to elevate their training.

Fitness should be accessible and enjoyable while being tailored to measurable and realistic goals. As your personal trainer I will provide you with the access to proper and effective workouts to reach your specific goals.
