Richard Harfst

Tennis Director and Club Manager

Richard is a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) and has been a Certified Teaching Professional since 2014. Prior to his position at Westside, Richard owned and operated River City Tennis in Elizabeth City, building tennis at all ages in the Elizabeth City community. Richard was the Head Women’s Tennis Coach at Elizabeth City State University NCAA DII CIAA for four years before he turned his attention to Westside. In early 2021 he began a new role with the club helping to oversee all operations. He loves taking care of the facility, treats the Har-Tru with the utmost care, and enjoys teaching players of all ages. His wife Lindsey is often on the courts playing, and their two children are typically the artists behind the joyful chalk art around the grounds.
